GODSMACK, SEVENDUST, ALTER BRIDGE Teaming Up For Summer Tour
May 27, 2008According to The Pulse of Radio, GODSMACK, SEVENDUST and ALTER BRIDGE are teaming for a summer tour that will start sometime in July. The trek has not been officially confirmed yet, and no dates or cities have been announced. The tour would mark a change in plans for GODSMACK, which went on hiatus at the end of last year after touring for much of 2006 and 2007 behind its "IV" album. Singer Sully Erna planned to work on a solo record, while the other members of the group released a CD under the name ANOTHER ANIMAL.
SEVENDUST recently issued its latest effort, "Chapter VII: Hope and Sorrow", and was initially announced as part of the lineup for this summer's inaugural Rockstar Energy Mayhem tour with SLIPKNOT and DISTURBED. But drummer Morgan Rose told The Pulse of Radio why the band decided to pull out. "Financially it wasn't going to work," he said. "We weren't going to be able to make enough money to even survive. If we would have went out in a van, with no crew guys, sleeping on the street, we still wouldn't have made enough money, and that's just enough money to keep our families, you know, from not having to get kicked out of the house."
SEVENDUST recently wrapped up their first trek since original guitarist Clint Lowery rejoined the group in late March. The band next plays on June 7 in Kansas City, Missouri.
ALTER BRIDGE is on the road in Europe through mid-June as it supports its sophomore effort, "Blackbird".
